Yurn was founded on a desire to help people at a truly vulnerable moment. It has evolved into a luxury vessel house renowned throughout Australia for its extraordinarily unique cremation urns and scattering tube vessels that cannot be found anywhere else.
Since our inception, Yurn cremation urns have symbolised more than the precious ingredients they house. A Yurn overflows with commitment; of closeness, comfort, assurance, and of course love. Yurn aims to leave its own legacy in reimagining our experiences with those who have past.
Each of our Urns carry an iconic feature that has grown to be widely recognisable and coveted – the top. A distinctive timber lid with a two tiered construction adorns all our Cremation Urns. This timber lid provides a sturdy and reliable closing. Our larger vessels take the top one step further to wear the final embellishment; a solid brass handle. Each signature brass handle is hand brushed, hand stamped and hand assembled. Its antioxidant protective coating keeps the colour vibrant and the metal long lasting.
Design is at the forefront of our human-centred approach to afterlife goods. When considering our vessels, we prioritise the needs of those holding onto ashes, the possibilities of technology and the requirements of care. Along with their iconic top, the base of each Yurn vessel comes with an extra thick durable foam to protect not only the vessel itself but also the surface it sits on.
Consistently delivering innovative vessels is made possible through our passion to explore and uncover local and international artisans. From fashion-forward Italy, vibrant glazes of India to an Australian pottery workkshop operating since 1945. Yurn sources the finest selection of quality materials, including Earth’s natural clay and biodegradable options such as paper-based. Beautiful craftsmanship curated within the vessel’s colours, shapes and style, can only be found in a Yurn.
